How the Digital Design Team at SRF started rethinking their design journey with AI

Challenge
The team had some initial exposure to GenAI but wanted to engage the entire department and move beyond early experiments. Their goal was to establish a structured approach to improve their design process effectively.
How WeSlam helped
Working closely with SRF, we tailored our GenAI workflow approach specifically to their needs. Through a detailed analysis of their existing design workflow, we gained valuable insights and identified initial opportunities to leverage GenAI. These insights enabled us to design an impactful workshop, where we could immediately dive into relevant topics.
We started the workshop with our Monster Challenge, followed by an engaging talk on the evolution of UX Design with GenAI, highlighting practical examples of current applications. We then collaborated with the team to analyze their design process, identify opportunities, and choose two initiatives for pilot projects.
In a mini-hackathon setting, we assisted the team in implementing these pilots within their environment. After a testing phase, the results will be reviewed and refined. Additionally, we were able to ignite enthusiasm within the SRF UX team to continue experimenting with GenAI, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning. SRF now has a clear plan to further enhance their design process using the identified opportunities.

We already had some experience with GenAI, but WeSlam helped us take a more structured approach. They brought clarity to the process, helped us move fast, and made the whole thing feel super collaborative. It didn’t feel like a typical project — more like we were exploring new ground together.
Outcome
Through focused sessions, we quickly moved from initial discussions to the hackathon, sparking enthusiasm for GenAI across the SRF UX team.
The Opportunity Tree and Lab approach facilitated the swift implementation of pilot projects, laying the groundwork for ongoing improvements.
